International One Stop Shops
While some of these restaurants share cities, I put them on this list because I did not find other food worthy of this list during my time in these cities. While I did attempt to do so in almost all of these cities, I failed both you and me in doing so. This means these cities only have a few spots, or maybe only one spot worth going out of your way for, that I have had the pleasure of devouring. So, without further ado, let’s get into these spots nationwide.
Dessert/Mil Hojas De Fresas Con Crema y Manjar
Rank: 15
Okay, the highest-ranking dessert on my list, aka the best dessert I have ever had in my life, might very well be the same for you. El Bodegon is a fantastic dinner and dessert restaurant, and the chicken Alfredo must be mentioned here. It was noteworthy on its own. We would never have found this fantastic joint if my roommate hadn't matched with a girl on Tinder and asked where we should eat. So this place holds a special spot in our hearts.
The dessert here is what takes the cake. Mil Hojas De Fresas Con Crema y Manjar, is insane! In English, this means a delicacy of a thousand leaves of strawberries with cream, and it is even better than it sounds. This is like a decadent graham cracker with a cheesecake filling and strawberries. That is kind of the best way I can describe this absolutely fantastic dish; it is crunchy, creamy, fruity, and just fantastic in every way. I ordered a second one after tasting it, and the roommates were also devouring the deliciousness unfolding in front of us.
Greek/Lamb with Rosemary
Rank: 85
Lefkatas is the only noteworthy food I had on Lefkada, but boy, is this a noteworthy spot. Lefkatas has an amazing ocean view, and is located in Athani in Lefkada. While you eat next to the street and look over the amazing views, you will be enticed to order seafood. However, do not make the same mistake I did. I tried seafood as it seemed to be the prerogative of Lefkatas, but the Lamb cooked with Rosemary put all the seafood here to shame. This lamb was absolutely amazing, and if you are in Lefkada looking for good food, here is your place.
Mexican/Green Empanadas
Rank: 114
I was stunned to find such high-quality Mexican food so far from Mexico. But the empanadas here do not disappoint. The green empanadas are not like any other type of empanada I have had in my life. Louisiana definitely puts a Spanish twist on them, and that is most welcome. These empanadas have amazing cheese, salsa, tomatoes, jalapenos, and a great base of a tortilla.
Spanish
Rank: 214
Here is another great spot in Pamplona that offers a variety of delicious Spanish cuisine. I was only here for San Fermin( the craziest week-long party in the world), so there is a completely different menu during San Fermin than the rest of the year. However, after eating a few items from their San Fermin menu, I could tell that the rest of the offerings at Iruñazarra would certainly also be noteworthy and probably rank higher. But since all I was able to devour was the delicious San Fermin menu I can only rank that, but everything on this menu is great, so choose whatever you like, and if you come when it is not San Fermin then I am confident you will continue to find noteworthy food here.
Peruvian/Ceviche
Rank: 207
If you are in Peru/Lima, you should know that there are a few cuisines you must focus on. Those include Pisco Sours, Ceviche, Alpaca, and Guinea Pig, but here at La Casa Del Ceviche, you should focus on the Pisco Sours and Ceviche (of course). I don’t think there is a ceviche you could go wrong within Peru in general, but definitely, nothing that is bad to order at the “house of ceviche”. If you are in Lima, you have to get to Ceviche. What better place than Ceviche's home?
Café/Churros y Chocolate
Rank: 342
Café Fútbol has been around in Granada for a long time now, since 1902. Not the oldest restaurant to grace the list, but it is still impressive nonetheless. Here we have a café that passes the vibe check with flying colors. Sitting outside in the square, they have some real estate is an amazing way to start a day, especially before enjoying Alhambra for the rest of the day. The churros and chocolate here are easily the best I had in Spain and are the only noteworthy iteration of this iconic Spanish dish I tried.
