Las Vegas

Google Map of all my recommendations for Vegas

Sin City definitely has a lot to offer everyone, from shows, to sports, to gambling, to, well everything else. But everyone needs to eat, and why not eat be as gluttonous as possible when in Sin City. Vegas has a wide array of delicious food to offer you from Japanese-inspired burgers, to brunch, to BBQ. Most of my restaurants will be in walking distance of Fremont and the Strip, but there are a few(one vital spot) that are worth a bit of a journey into the rest of the city. I hope you can enjoy your time in Vegas and not get up to too much trouble, but while at these restaurants feel free to cause a raucous and order as much as you can.

Burger/Tamago

Rank: 52

Oh boy! Fukuburger is a bit of a drive from the strip, but it is well worth it. A Japanese inspired burger joint in Chinatown in Las Vegas is tremendous and provides well priced, especially for Vegas. Fukuburger was hands-down the best restaurant I went to in Vegas and is honestly the best burger I have had in my entire life. All of the burgers here are definitely tremendous, but the Tamago is special.

The Tamago has an egg that runs through the burger and gives it a perfect balance of flavor accompanied with the fried onions wasabi mayo, and Teriyaki this burger will have your mouth-watering. I had one, and immediately ordered a second one knowing it was easily the best burger in the city, and knowing it had the potential to be the best burger of my life to this point. And it undoubtedly lives up to this billing. Check out my reaction here.

Pizza/The Rosa

Rank: 128

Oh boy Detroit style pizza always has a special place in my heart, but Pizza Rock definitely makes the most of it. The Rosa was absolutely glorious with a nice crispy pepperoni and very tasty sauce. The cheese and crust were absolutely amazing here as well. The wait may be a little long, but with a short walk from Fremont St. and providing such high-end pizza, I definitely would go out of my way for a day at Fremont St. to secure this pizza yet again. I am sure the other pizzas are also fabulous at Pizza Rock, but I would definitely ensure you try one of their Detroit style pizzas while you are here.

BBQ/Pork Ribs

Rollin Smoke Barbeque is fabulous and is the first entry of the cheap joints in Vegas. Finding cheap meals may become increasingly hard to find in Vegas. However, Rollin Smoke is another spot you can trust to get a mighty bang for your buck. All of the meat at Rollin Smoke is really good, however, the Pork Ribs, Burnt Ends, and the Beef Ribs were the standouts. Everything here is fantastic and definitely worth a bit of a walk from the strip, you can stock up with the all you can eat in an hour like I did if you are feeling ambitious. However, if you want to be civilized and just try a few different meats that is also a quality decision.

American

Yardbird is an amazing restaurant in the Venetian that provides delectable brunch and dinner. While I recommend coming for dinner, you would not go wrong showing up for a brunch either. The wait for a table may be a little long if you do not have a reservation, so I would recommend getting one down before you head to Vegas. However, waiting for a table here is definitely worth it as well.

I was able to try a plethora of items on the menu, and from that I would say you really cannot go wrong with anything here. All of the specialties and mains are absolutely amazing, my personal favorite was the chicken and waffles, however everything was fire. The chicken was nice and crispy and the waffles were phenomenal. Their hot sauce was perfect here and I would definitely get the chicken and waffles the next time I pay Yardbird a visit.

Mexican/ Adobada

Rank: 148

Tacos El Gordo is a fabulous Mexican joint on the strip that was easily the cheapest meal I had in Las Vegas, and it was definitely worth a walk (we stayed at the Flamingo) and every penny spent there. Tacos El Gordo represent a Tijuana original that has locations in San Diego as well, and it is absolutely delicious. While the adobada was clearly the best meat offered here, the chorizo was a close second in my opinion. I recommend just stocking up on tacos here and making sure you go crazy here because it will easily be your cheapest meal in Vegas.

Brunch

Hash House a Go Go is an amazing brunch spot in the Linq and the wait might once again be a little long, but it is in a casino, so I am sure you will be fine. It is also well worth the wait. The famous chicken and waffles here are well, famous for a reason. They are incredible, however I also recommend the chorizo hash, because whew, this chorizo at Hash House is really good. I think both the fried chicken and the chorizo hash are the two dishes I would go out of my way for next time I am on the strip, and I believe you should too.
