London

Google Map of all my recommendations for London

London is a phenomenal city, and for some reason, the hate for British food has become overblown. I have heard many people say British food is bland and with no flavor. And that is absolutely absurd! British food, as made evident by this list is amazing! I have some great spots for you to secure some killer standard London grub, so we can shut those crazy people up. I hope you enjoy this amazing city, the great pubs, the killer sights, but let’s get into the glorious grub, shall we?

Lamb Murtabak

Rank: 29

Roti King is a small Malaysian joint in London that serves some amazing Murtabak and Roti. This is actually my first time having Mutabak, and whew I have been missing out. The lamb Murtabak here was definitely the best thing we had. And I recommend it for anyone who stumbles upon this massive line for this small Malaysian joint. The wait is worth it, and I can imagine the rest of the menu is absolutely amazing, I definitely recommend coming here time and again if you can, because I certainly would be a regular if it was possible.

Take note the line can be long as Roti King is pretty small, but I don’t think you should let any wait stop you from devouring the delicious food served here.

Meat Pie

Rank: 35

The number one spot in London is rated this highly for a reason. Upon seeing the menu for Blacklock your eyes may focus on all the fabulous meat, and rightfully so, the meat is tremendous. And the atmosphere at Blacklock is equally glorious. While you are dazzled by the array of meat you can consume, you must order yourself the Steak, Stilton, and Bone Marrow Pie. This meat pie is practically holy. The meat is so tender and juicy inside of this pie, and then combine that with the gravy that is straight gas, your mouth will be watering for another one immediately after.

I must mention the meat, that was so damn good. I had the all in for myself along with the meat pie, and it was a phenomenal meal that, well not everyone can devour that much meat, but if you can you should. My second favorite item on the menu besides the pie were the chops, which to my surprise outclassed the rest of the meat on the menu.

Full English

Rank: 120

The top two places in London are two English specialties, a meat pie, and now a full English. And while there will be more full English’s to come on this list, Fox & Anchor takes the cake for the best full English, by a good amount. The full English is a must while you are in London, and it is a staple all over the city. But Fox & Anchor is the masterclass of full English’s, from what I was able to try, and I definitely would make a stop here for breakfast if you are in the city for a splendid morning, you should ensure you have nice brekky at this pub/hotel/restaurant.

Fish n Chips

Rank: 135

The Prospect of Whitby is an iconic pub that has been serving fish and pints at this location since the 1500’s. The oldest restaurant on my list, has been around this long for a reason. With a great location on the river Thames and serving up stellar Fish N Chips(the 2nd best I have had), Prospect of Whitby is a must-stop for everyone in London who has not been yet. The Fish N Chips here are absolutely phenomenal, and I can guarantee you will love the food and the pub.

While I never mention history in reviews of any other restaurant, I feel Prospect of Whitby is a deserving exception. In the 1500s pirates would plot heists while drinking pints here. And a corrupt judge who wound up in the Tower of London used to watch hangings from the balcony overlooking the Thames here. So if you don’t like food or beer for some reason, now you have a historic reason to enjoy the Prospect of Whitby.

Full English

Rank: 146

E Pellici is a small café serving some of London's best food. Since opening in 1900, it has mastered the art of the English breakfast. I could not muster any more food down after a full English from E Pellici. And you should be aware of the massively delicious and voluminous full English for you. It is absolutely phenomenal, and you will love every second you spend in this small café.

While I was unable to down any more food at this wonderful restaurant, I can only assume it is outstanding based on what I saw, smelt, and devoured at E Pellici.

Salt Beef Beigel

Rank: 197

Beigel Bake is a fabulous 24-hour beigel shop in London that gives you a taste right into an everyday stomping ground for locals. This Beigel shop’s standards are salt beef and smoked salmon. And if you choose to stray from this path, I don’t think you will be disappointed either. While I stuck to eating the customary sandwiches, with how delicious they were, and how damn good these beigels are I can only imagine the good will keep on coming. I am jealous to this day of the Londoners who can stumble into Beigel Bake after a late night out in the pubs and walk home downing a glorious Beigel sandwich.

Rabbit

Rank: 274

Casse-Croute is a French restaurant in London, and it is amazing. The interesting thing about recommending what to eat here is that their menu changes daily, so I will never know what delicious options you have before you. However, if rabbit is an option for you here, I would recommend it, as it was our favorite. But I honestly do not think you can go wrong with anything here, no matter what they decide to throw on the menu for the given day.

Fish N Chips

Rank: 285

The last two spots will round out the London list in a very London way, with Fish N Chips galore. Kennedy’s is another stop that you should be able to make time for fairly easily, as there are a few locations around the city. While visiting one of the locations, I would ensure that you try both a pie and the Fish N Chips here. The pies all looked amazing, and the Fish N Chips were of note. Kennedy’s does their fish just right, and while I was there, they let me tell them when to stop with the salt and vinegar(a big bonus for me), which I took huge advantage of, and had a smothering of the dynamic duo on my Fish N Chips. Even if you don’t like a smothering of salt and vinegar, you will surely be able to enjoy the stellar fish and, as perfect as you could ask, fried chips.

Fish N Chips

Rank: 313

Ending London with a Fish N Chips joint just seems fitting. Master’s Superfish is the third installment of insane Fish N Chips that should be devoured promptly upon receiving them. The Fish is just cooked perfectly and fried to perfection. And the chips here are also just a grand job that will keep you coming back for more if you’re in the area.
